Georgia, on the south side of the Caucasus mountains next to the Black Sea, has a rich culture of poetry and song. Bristol is twinned with its capital, Tbilisi.

Launching the ground-breaking anthology ‘A House With No Doors’ published by Francis BoutleGNBClogoweb translators Victoria Field and Natalia Bukia-Peters read poems by some of Georgia’s finest contemporary poets.

Bristol’s Borjghali Choir is directed by Anthony Johnston and specialises in songs from Georgia. The choir sings heart-stirring songs that give voice to the loves, passions, losses and vitality of ordinary village people. Songs with ancient roots that resonate with the contemporary poems.
