The Ted Hughes Arvon Centre at Lumb Bank is an eighteenth century mill owner’s home, set in the stunning Pennine hills above Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. The Arvon Foundation is a registered charity, running week-long, residential writing courses for over 40 years. Our courses offer writers an informal, supportive environment in which to share, learn, discuss and progress their work. Each course has two established, published writers as tutors, as well as a mid-week guest reader. Alongside Poetry, courses include genres such as Fiction, Playwriting, Screenwriting and Starting to Write.
